Rufio was (is?) a melodic punk rock band based in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The band took their name from the character Rufio, leader of the Lost Boys in the absence of Peter Pan in the 1991 film Hook. It's well known for their super-poppy vocals.
Today we would like to introduce you two bands that sounds very similar to Rufio, CounterAct and Scarlet. There isn't too much information about these two bands on the net so if you have further info, please contact us so we can add more information to this post.
CounterAct was a skate punk band located in Salt Lake City formed in 2001. The very first song of their Self-Titled EP 'Tearing Me Apart' is fantastic, pure gold. The first verse of 'Whole Years' sounds exactly the same as Rufio's 'Road To Recovery'.

The other Rufio-ish band is californian Scarlet. The EP 'Things To Come' was released at the end of the 90's. This band also adds sometimes some little screams.
