Brubeck, 90's style skate punk from New Zealand

The biggest punk band in the Wellington scene, Brubeck formed around mid 1997 in Wellington after the disbandment of Lime Nugget. The brainchild of Paul and Sarah when the pair met in the record store where Paul was working. The first thing the band did was record two songs for a Onefoot Records compilation of NZ punk and release a split CD with Monkey Puzzle. For their first gig they supported Fugazi at the Wellington Victoria University Hall.

In 1998 Brubeck featured in the Vans Warped Tour and played with the likes of Sprung Monkey and Living End. In 2000 they performed a notable gig at The Powerstation for the 'Day In The Life' gig with Foamy Ed, Blake, Kitsch, Day One & Sommerset.

Brubeck always pull a great crowd and have played some great support gigs for the likes of Millencolin, Jebediah, No Fun At All, The Ataris, Offspring, Guttermouth, Less Than Jake, Fugazi, The Living End, Mindsnare, Sprung Monkey and Ten Foot Pole. Definitely one of the top punk bands in the country.

Brubeck's debut album "The Myoclonic Twitch" was released on August 9, 2001 via Halfpie Recordings.
