Torches To Triggers formed in late 2011 with the goals to collaborate multiple styles of music surrounding the melodic and hardcore punk genres. The group is comprised of Corey Tapp, formerly of This is a Standoff, Deville, Fallout Frequency and One Shot Left along with Gavin Spate, Justin Stilwell and Phil Schumacher. Most are EX members of Calgary's Inventing The Wheel. Shortly after the creation of the group, lead vocalist Chris Kreuger joined the collaboration to bring the sounds full circle with the set of melodic and heavy vocals. In late December 2011, Torches To Triggers recorded the two album teasers “This Moment” and “Countdown” with Casey Lewis of Echo Base Studio in Calgary, Canada and played their debut show with Strung Out at The Distillery in Calgary on new years 2011.

On their newest record, the storied band deliberately revisits and refines the powerful and melodic Southern California sound they helped to define.

“We went back to our original mission statement of short concise bursts of melody and thought,” co-songwriter and guitarist Brett Gurewitz explains. “The intent was to record stripped down punk songs without sacrificing any conceptual density.”

New Half Hearted Hero album entitled 'Whatever' to be released this January

We're pleased to once again work with Half Hearted Hero on their new record "Whatever" due out January 15, 2013 on 12" vinyl / digital. The 8 track release was recorded and mixed by Half Hearted Hero guitarist Clinton Lisboa and Ben Barnett and mastered by Jay Maas (Defeater, Bane, Have Heart, Transit, Title Fight).

"Whatever" is the follow up to 2010's EP "Running Water" and signifies a slight departure from the band's previous material but should continue to please fans of old and new, "In the past we've tried too hard to corner album lyrics into one theme and it usually ends up falling flat," AJ Mills, guitarist, said, "Maybe that's what this album is about. I think it's less about finding the right thing to say and instead saying how you feel."  

The band are planning a ten day tour in January leading up to the record's release.

Nations Afire is a four piece band from southern California, formed in early 2009, that features current and former members of some of the most influential punk and hardcore bands from the past decade. Guitarist Chris Chasse has an impressive resume that includes a tenure with Rise Against (Siren Song of the Counter Culture ‘04 and The Sufferer & the Witness ’06). Bassist Brett Rasmussen and guitarist/vocalist Nik Hill are both long standing members of the Orange County hardcore outfit Ignite and drummer Todd Hennig was the percussive force behind Death By Stereo for three albums.

Bassist Brett Rasmussen explained “Most of us have known each other for quite a few years and we were all really excited to put together a new band that would be more than just a side project” Nations Afire has come out of the gate swinging and has already toured Western USA, and Europe twice. Another European Tour is already being planned for Spring 2013.
